MATLAB · 1:1 · 60 MIN · FROM €49.99/H IN A PACKAGE

Matlab tutoring, 1:1, for the assignments your degree grades.

Live with Becky, B.Sc. in Computer Science. We work on your Matlab exercise, your script or your project data: vectors instead of loops, plots that say something, code you can hand in and explain.

What a session looks like

● smooth_signal.m ⎙ shared
% one line, no loop over samples
signal = filter(ones(1, 8) / 8, 1, noisy);

plot(t, noisy); hold on
plot(t, signal); grid on
legend("raw", "smoothed")
Think in vectors: filter does the loop for you, shorter and faster. Becky, 8 min ago
MATLAB CURRICULUM

What Matlab coursework actually asks for.

Not a toolbox manual: the skills your exercise sheets and projects are graded on. We work with your data, your formulas, your course's tasks.

Matrices and vector arithmetic

Matlab's core idea: whole vectors and matrices at once, instead of element-wise loops.

  • Vectors and matrices in Matlab notation
  • Arithmetic and element-wise operators
  • Indexing and slicing
  • Solving linear systems
  • Matrix functions
  • Where loops are still legitimate

Scripts and functions

From a pile of command-line entries to a script someone else can run and read.

  • Scripts vs functions
  • Function arguments and return values
  • Local scope and the workspace
  • Comments and naming
  • Debugging with breakpoints
  • Reproducible runs with rng

Plots and visualization

Plots that make your result visible and your submission credible.

  • plot, subplot, hold on
  • Labels, legends, grid
  • Line styles and colormaps
  • Surface and contour plots
  • Exporting figures
  • Reading other people's plots

Data analysis and coursework projects

Reading data, cleaning it, computing on it, presenting it: the typical project arc.

  • Reading CSV and Excel files
  • Filtering and smoothing signals
  • Descriptive statistics on real data
  • Curve fitting
  • Automating a whole evaluation
  • Writing up results
ROADMAP

How a Matlab series with us runs.

Concrete sessions on your coursework. After the first chat you decide the arc: full basics or straight into the urgent assignment.

  1. S1
    Step 1
    Diagnosis

We open your exercise or project in the classroom. After 30 minutes we both know what is missing: notation, functions, or just the vectorized way of thinking.

  2. S2
    Step 2
    Command line to script

The commands you already typed become a script that runs top to bottom, with comments your tutor can follow.

  3. S3
    Step 3
    Think in vectors

The Matlab reflex: whole arrays at once. We rewrite your loops together until the short version feels natural.

  4. S4
    Step 4
    Functions and structure

Your script grows functions with clear inputs and outputs. Other people, and future you, can reuse it.

  5. S5
    Step 5
    Plots and results

Your numbers become figures with labels and legends. A plot you can defend is half the grade.

  6. S6
    Step 6
    Hand-in ready

Code, figures, write-up: you explain every line out loud. When that works, submission day is calm.

FROM THE FOUNDER

Why Study IT exists.

I built Study IT because I have seen first-hand how IT teaching at university falls apart.

The people who teach here know code from real projects. Practice decides, not the diploma.

FAQ

Matlab tutoring: frequently asked questions

Where do the Matlab sessions take place?
Online, in the browser classroom with screen sharing. We look at your code and your data together.
Do I need the Matlab license installed?
For the session itself, no: screen sharing is enough. For practising in between, your university's license or Matlab Online works. If your course allows Octave as an alternative, we can use that too.
Is this Simulink tutoring?
No. We coach Matlab the language: matrices, scripts, functions, plots, data analysis. Simulink models are not part of the offering.
Who teaches the Matlab sessions?
Becky. B.Sc. in Computer Science, more than 8 years of teaching experience. The sessions work on your concrete coursework, at your pace.
Do you help with Matlab exams and project deadlines?
Yes. Bring the assignment, your current state and the deadline. In 60 minutes we usually turn stuck into a running version plus a next step.
My course uses NumPy and Python instead of Matlab. Can you help?
Yes, that is our Python tutoring: arrays, plotting and data analysis translate almost one to one. We have a dedicated Python page for that.
Can you look over a finished project before submission?
Yes. A code review session: naming, structure, plots, and the questions your supervisor is likely to ask.

The deadline stays, the blocker does not have to.

30 minutes to talk, then you decide. One session usually gets a stuck assignment running again.
