FOR CAREER SWITCHERS · BOOTCAMP · SELF-TAUGHT

Between tutorial and first job sits a senior.

You finished a bootcamp, watched YouTube dry, built a to-do app. But applications stall. We are the bridge: portfolio review, real code reviews, mock interviews. 1:1 with senior devs.

THREE PATHS · HONEST MATH

We are not the only path. Here is the comparison.

There is no „best" path into programming, only the one that fits your life. Three realistic options with real numbers, honest weaknesses, and who they suit.

Intensive · Group

Bootcamp

Time
3 to 9 months full-time
Cost
7,000 to 18,000 €
+ Pro
  • Strict structure. You do not have to motivate yourself.
  • Cohort effect: you progress together with others
  • Job placement often included
− Contra
  • Pace may not match yours
  • Depth is often limited. Breadth over substance.
  • No job guarantee; the 2025 market is hard
Who it suits

Worth it if you can step out full-time, you cope well with group dynamics, and you want a clear „reset setting".

Self-directed · 0 €

Solo + YouTube

Time
8 to 18 months on the side
Cost
0 to 500 € (courses, books)
+ Pro
  • Fully your pace
  • Thousands of free resources
  • Maximum depth possible, if you stick with it
− Contra
  • Discipline problem: 80 percent drop off
  • Nobody tells you when you are heading down a dead end
  • Dangerous gaps stay unnoticed
Who it suits

Worth it if you are demonstrably disciplined, have already finished something in self-study, and you bring patience.

Our approach
Mentoring · Flexible

1:1 mentoring

Time
6 to 14 months, 2 to 4 h per week
Cost
59.99 €/h · ~50 €/h in the semester pack
+ Pro
  • Curriculum tailored to you
  • Code review every week. Gaps are spotted early.
  • Combinable with job, family, bootcamp
− Contra
  • Requires you to pull your weight. No „sit it out" effect.
  • Slower than a bootcamp sprint
  • We do not do job placement
Who it suits

Worth it if you cannot step out full-time, you know your concrete gaps, and you need an honest sparring partner.

Combinable: many of our students do a bootcamp first and then come to us for the depth, or the other way around.

FROM THE FOUNDER

Why Study IT exists.

I built Study IT because I have seen first-hand how computer-science teaching at university falls apart.

Our tutors are working developers, not student side-jobbers.

WHY CAREER SWITCHERS COME TO US

Your bootcamp sent you off. We get you over the line.

The bootcamp is over, but the job market is hard. What helps now: more code, a better portfolio, honest feedback from people who actually hire.

01

Senior devs, not coaches

Our mentors are working developers with hiring experience. They know what teams actually look at, and what they ignore.

02

Code review, honest

You send us your GitHub, we go through it. Architecture, git history, README, tests. Not „looks fine to me", but „here is where you would fail our screen".

03

Mock interviews

Technical coding interview. System design. Live in the classroom platform with screen share, detailed feedback right after.

04

Gap topics

Bootcamps often skip OS, networking, database internals. Exactly the topics that come up in interviews. We pick you up there.

FAQ

Common questions

I am still in a bootcamp. Does this make sense already?
Yes, especially in the last 4 weeks. We review your capstone project, help you with your job-search strategy, and you are ready when it starts.
Will you teach me Java or Python, or is it interview-only?
Both. Many career switchers have gaps in fundamentals (data structures, HTTP, database internals). We work on those, and prepare you for interviews in parallel.
Do you run mock interviews?
Yes. Technical coding interview, system design, behavioral. Live in our classroom platform with screen share and detailed feedback after.
Does this run on Zoom?
No. We have our own browser platform, Classroom. No download, no third-party account. Click the link, get started.
Is this worth it if I already have applications out?
Often especially then. If you get interviews but collect rejections, it usually comes down to details in the code or in your communication. We surface those quickly.
What does it really cost?
Single session 59.99 € for 60 min. With code ERSTIS26 your first hour is 47.99 €. Hour packages (prepaid, e.g. a 10-session card) are coming. No subscriptions, no auto-charging.
Can I send you my GitHub and you review it?
Yes. That is one of our most common sessions. Bring a project, we spend 60 minutes on it and give honest feedback.
