Study IT is a reaction to the bad experiences most of us had with online tutoring. Platforms where practical experience is not a requirement and Java gets explained from a textbook. Big providers throwing math, English, and biology tutors at IT students.
We do one thing: 1:1 sessions with real backend developers who have been writing code in industry for years.

From exam stress to "ah, now I get it."
If you study computer science or do a FIAE apprenticeship, you know the feeling. 90% of the material makes sense, but on the 10% you are stuck on, the rest does not get easier either. Lectures move too fast, the textbook is too abstract, ChatGPT generalizes.

How we got here.
- 2013
Apprenticeship as an IT specialist
Marcel starts an apprenticeship as an IT specialist for application development. First contact with code from real projects, on the job instead of in a lecture hall.
- 2016
Business informatics at Hochschule Niederrhein
Marcel begins his degree. Tutors first-year students on the side. Notices that many do not fail at the material itself, they fail because nobody walks them through it once.
- 2020
Graduation and full time in industry
Bachelor's degree done, full-time software developer at COMPEON, where he had worked as a working student since 2018. Continues tutoring on the side. Mostly former classmates who got stuck partway through their studies.
- 2024
The idea
Marcel moves to Teylor Technologies as a senior full stack developer and architect. At the same time, the first concepts for Study IT take shape: a platform where students learn 1:1 with professionals from industry.

Launch
We launch with a hand-picked team. Tutors from real dev teams, focused on Java, Python, C#, C and OOP. Free first chat for an informal introduction.
