FOR DEVELOPERS · PART-TIME · REMOTE

Teach code that interests you. On terms that pay off.

We are building Study IT around senior developers as tutors. People who ship their stack in production every day. Fair pay, our own classroom platform, no minimum hours. Apply if you want to share what you know without disappearing into a mass marketplace.

  • No exclusivity
  • Your calendar, your rules
WHY STUDY IT

We have seen enough bad platforms ourselves.

Bargain marketplaces at 15 € per hour. Bureaucracy with 40-page contracts. Learners who do not know what they want. We are building the opposite.

  • 01

    Paid fairly, transparent

You know your rate before you start. No hidden fees, no commission tiers that demote you in month two. Monthly payout by bank transfer.

  • 02

    We filter the requests

Every learner has a first chat with us. You only get clients who fit your profile, with a clear problem brief before the session. No 10 "Hi, can you help me?" messages.

  • 03

    No tool hell

Our own classroom platform in the browser: whiteboard, code editor with live run, screen share, chat. You do not waste 10 minutes on Zoom logins or VSCode setup questions.

  • 04

    You plan how you want

No minimum volume. 2 sessions a week or 20, both fine. On vacation? Block the calendar. No attendance duty, no binding contracts.

  • 05

    Not built on stress

You see upcoming sessions 7 days ahead. No last-minute matches at 23:48. Learners know: cancel up to 12 h before, after that you get paid even on no-shows.

  • 06

    Honest return on craft

We pay for craft, not just time. If you explain well, you get follow-up bookings, referrals, rate reviews. Your profile grows with you.

COMPENSATION

Three tiers. All numbers out in the open.

Our customers pay 59.99 € per hour. We keep a transparent margin for platform, support, payment processing, matching. The rest goes to you.

WHO WE LOOK FOR

Specialists who like to explain.

  • 3+ years of industry experience

You have worked on real projects, not just university exercises or bootcamp builds.

  • You want to explain, not show off

Good tutors say "what do you want this method to return?" instead of "look, this is how you do it."

  • Confident German

C1 or better. English as a second language is great. Many learners read English docs.

  • Reliable, but flexible

You can hold fixed slots. And if you cannot make one, you tell us in time.

  • Top 1% vibes, no thanks

If proving how good you are matters most, this is not the right place. We look for people who help others grow.

  • Pure student experience

"I always helped my classmates in my third semester" is not enough. We need an industry lens.

FAQ

The questions we hear.

Do I have to quit my day job?
Not at all. Most of our tutors teach 2 to 6 sessions a week alongside a day job. We are fully flexible. Just please do not work with us and a direct competitor at the same time (see "exclusivity" below).
How does exclusivity work?
You can teach anywhere you want: GoStudent, Superprof, your own clients, whatever. We only ask that you do not poach Study IT clients directly. That is clearly written in the contract.
What if I take 3 weeks off?
You block your calendar. No approval needed, no need to find a substitute. If you have no availability, you get no requests. Simple as that.
How do I get paid?
Monthly batch payout via Stripe Connect (or SEPA transfer if you prefer). You receive a breakdown of every session with date, client, duration, and rate. As a self-employed teacher you send us a fee invoice. We provide a template.
Taxes? Social contributions?
You are a self-employed teacher on a fee basis, not an employee of Study Core. That means: small-business VAT rule or regular VAT, you handle your own income tax. We send you a guide with the key points during onboarding (including the pension insurance duty for teachers).
What if I do not know a specific topic?
Just leave it out of your profile. You only get requests for topics you actively enable. Example: Java + Spring, but no Android, means no Android requests.
What if a learner does not show up?
Cancellation deadline is 12 h before the session. Below that, or on a no-show, the full price is charged. You get your full rate as if the session had taken place. Your time is not free.
Can I teach groups too?
Right now we focus on 1:1. Small groups (2 to 4) are planned from 2026 onwards. You can sign up for that. Rates are then negotiated per session, usually 55 to 65 €/h net.
Can I move up later?
Sure. After about 20 sessions there is a review with us and the client feedback. If you keep a stable ≥ 4.8 rating and 95 %+ attendance, we discuss moving you up a tier.
I want to apply but I am unsure I hit the bar.
Write to us anyway: marcel.schmidtpeter@study-it.education. Better us saying no than you wondering forever. We answer every application personally, usually within 3 business days.
